Hi everyone,This current water crisis in Chennai is not natural crisis but a man made crisis. we live in kolathur which is located in northern Chennai , and it consists of more than 2000 acres of lake but hardly I can see 200 acres of it. All the water bodies are shrunked by man and no water conservation is done. All the three rivers which flows through Chennai such as Cooum, adayar, and palar are intoxicated. The rain water is not harvested properly and its allowed to flow into the sea. Many people speak about interlinking of tamilnadu rivers and indian rivers but instead of speaking about it for centuries together which is only on paper , we can focus of interlinking the lakes and ponds in and around Chennai city so that the water level does not go down and it will supply the whole Chennai city for the full year without any crisis.
